2008 Happenings - December 30, 2008: Wreckage Before March, Eclectic, AL, produced 3 new songs in the studio. Visit their MySpace to hear the new songs. Here's a quick retro-sounding sample, called "Oh! It Moves Me" (caution: song starts off relatively quiet, but comes in louder at about 20 seconds).... December Interview with Jamie Sharpe! Check out the December Issue of "In the Pocket!" Nate Carter sat down with Rush of Fools drummer Jamie Sharpe at his home during a break in their recent touring schedule. - November 3, 2008: Willie McDonald was back in the studio to cut a tribute song called "Pretty Angel" that he wrote for his departed cousin. The Eclectic Town Council will have the CD on sale beginning October 18th. The CD will feature an all-original song based on a letter that town founder, Dr. M.L. Fielder wrote to his wife from the battlefield during the Civil War. The intent is to give the listener that they are taking a journey through various battlefields throughout the Civil War and hearing songs as they may have been played back then; free form, raw, and soulful. Here's a quick sample.... - September 12, 2008: Knox Family Band, Eclectic, AL, finished recording their EP on August 26th. The group is going strong throughout Alabama and the southeastern region, and just recorded their 5th release (4th studio project) at Guest House Studios. Here's a short mix of samples from the upcoming EP. The show consisted of 4 bands with an energetic crowd representing Montgomery, Wetumpka, and Eclectic! - Buckshore Bridge is Burning (Birmingham, Alabama) - Nineball (Lake Cumberland, Kentucky) - Winters Halo (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) - Wreckage Before March (Eclectic, Alabama) - Mar 7, 2008: Guest House Studios provided sound for a benefit show to raise funds for the Elmore County High School Athletics Department. The show consisted of 3 bands. Thanks to Wreckage Before March for coordinating the event. All proceeds went to their good friend Sydney, who is hospitalized in Birmingham, AL. See Photos in the Photo section.
